Once upon a time during a very cold 10th Feb. in the year 1987 a young woman gave birth to her first child: a boy, whom she called 'Martin'... This boy is a young man now -- and you are currently browsing his personal website. Although he was born in a city in the heart of Germany called Magdeburg he lives now in Cologne, where he studies 'Industrial Management connected with Business Informatics' at the EUFH in Brühl.
Education
Martin went to a tiny, tree surrounded Elementary School called 'Grundschule Friedensweiler'. Mrs Ztech was his first teacher ever. After four years of football (soccer) playing, drawing and finger counting (he never really learned mental arithmetic), he got into the 'Förderstufe'. A stupid invention by the federal government under Mr Höppner. So he wasted two years at a school called 'Hans Schellheimer'.
In grade seven Martin got finally to his last and favourite school, the 'Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasium'. His class teacher Mrs Winkler educated him in maths and physics. She also organized class trips, like the final one to Budapest.
In his final two school years he joined the drama club and played in `Romeo and Juliet`_. He played 'Paris'. Together with the others in the drama club he created a funny parody of Shakespeare's `original tragedy`_. The club joined in regional drama club contests, in which they won the first price. They also got a nomination for the national contest. But as Martin and others had to leave Magdeburg, they never took part in the national contest.
Before leaving Magdeburg, Martin got his 'Abitur' (diploma or A-levels). As it is tradition in Germany, the pupils celebrated their achievement together with their families. This event is called 'Abiturball_', during which Martin held the `pupil's speech`_ (transcript_).
Currently, Martin studies in Cologne at `European University of Applied Science`_. His major is Industrial Management, which he combines with Computer Science. Each of his seven semester's is divided into a practical and a theoretical phase. During the practical phase Martin works at `DataCollect Traffic Systems GmbH`_. Here he develops web products.
His studies will end by the end of March 2010, hopefully.
Web technology
In 2002, some days after his birthday in February Martin published his first website: `The unofficial Emma Watson Fansite`_. The fully HTML static file driven page grew slowly but continuously. As the name of the page wasn't catchy enough Martin renamed it into 'Emma Watson Empire'.
Updating a static file driven page is too annoying, which is why Martin learned how to write PHP_ code. Nowadays the page still bases on this programming language, using a MySQL_ database and serving contents to up to 28000 Emma Watson fans every day.
