This poem was written by me for my English class... But I think you'll enjoy it as well.

American Dream - A Nightmare?

— by Martin Geber

Every girl dreams of being one of them,
Every boy dreams of being the boyfriend of one of them,
Every parent dreams of having them as their children.

They live in a huge apartment in New York,
They are students of the NYU,
They work as producers, actors, managers and authors,
They own their own multimillion business.

Each talk master loves to interview them,
Each TV channel loves them as host of a show,
Each series wants them to be guest stars.

Both of them have their own luxury car,
Both of them own hundreds of expensive dresses,
Both of them acted in over forty movies so far,
Both of them have been famous since they can remember.

Each employee is glad to work for them,
Each fan is glad to see them in magazines,
Each magazine is glad to print stories about them.

They can’t go shopping without people looking at them,
They can’t go out without being cover of a magazine,
They can’t have a cheeseburger without feeling guilty,
They can do whatever they want, their manager assures.

Every girl wants to live their American Dream,
Every boy knows that they are the American Dream in person,
Every parent wants their children to have as much luck as they had.

Both of them are the youngest self-made millionaires ever,
Both of them own an incredible fortune,
Both of them got all powers in the entertainment business,
Both of them are the poorest humans I can think of.
